Racing Brake Pads
In the car racing range, we supply Ferodo racing brake pads in several compounds, the choice depending on application and driver preference. All part numbers in the range section feature a suffix which identifies the material compound available for each part number for instance: H: DS2500; C: 4003; R: DS3000; W: DS1.11; and Z: DSUNO.
Ferodo H-DS2500
The Ferodo DS2500(H) for example, is a high performance track day pad suitable for some light duty front and many rear pure race applications. It offers excellent refinement for such a high performance pad. They can be used for track day & light race use for all vehicle types. They also have road style refinement but with race material ability to withstand heat.
The DS2500 is one of the most effective hybrid street or track pads you can hope to find on the market. With their balanced high bite and solid fade resistance, the DS2500 offers a flat torque curve during aggressive driving maneuvers, which means as temperatures go up, the response through the brake pedal remains consistent.
Ferodo C-4003
The Ferodo 4003(C) brake pads happens to be a compound specifically designed for lighter racing cars and used occasionally for Rally use. The brake offers a short bed-in time, good initial bite, low drag and excellent release but is the 4003(C) is only available in a smaller shape selection. Fedoro’s C-4003 brake pads have an average friction coefficient of 0.46 over a working temperature range of 200°-450°C.
They provide fantastic bite and offer you a level of control to prevent wheel locking during down force. Ferodo R-DS3000
Ferodo's most popular racing compound has to be the DS3000(R) brake pads. These offer high initial bite with superb feel and release. The DS3000 is popular among rally teams contributed to countless wins and podium positions in many Touring car and GT championships because of its relatively low cold temperature threshold and high temp stability for tarmac.
With the DS3000(R) you will get very High coefficient of friction (0,54) at all speeds and temperature, predictability and control because of the unvarying torque output and low off-brake drag. Perfect for drivers who demand the ultimate in braking performance, they provide the kind of braking power normally associated with racing cars. Ferodo DS Performance pads are formulated to minimise disc wear and yet retain Ferodo’s commitment to producing world class friction materials.
Ferodo W-DS1.11
The Ferodo flagship racing brake pad DS1.11(W) developed using 'Siloxanes' chains which do not decompose at high temperatures means that it has a very constant coefficient of friction. It has heavy duty endurance material and an average friction coefficient 0.46 over working temperature range of 200°-700°C. The DS1.11 compound is one of the most durable and long-lasting of Ferodo’s range and has been used successfully in Touring car, GT, Rally and single seater applications. However, this race compound is not recommended for road use. The pads are designed and work with a very low compression level so pedal travel is short and consistent.
The DS1.11 slightly less bite at high temperatures compared to the DS3000. Known for its extremely flat torque curve, the DS1.11 doesn’t burn up or fade easily and it's also easy on discs. They are all around race pads that will perform well and are long-lasting.
Ferodo Z-DSUNO
Replacing the popular DS2.11 brake pads from Ferodo, the DSUNO(Z) replaced the popular DS2.11 Ferodo brake pads and they have enhanced technology for heavy-duty endurance use. Used in Touring car, GT, Formula and rally racing, the DSUNO extends the life of your discs while still providing a high friction output.
With an average friction coefficient 0.48 over working temperature range of 200°-700°C, heavy duty semi-endurance material, extremely controllable torque output, the pad offers excellent capabilities of being modulated throughout braking which means that there’s a reduced risk in wheel locking.
