In the last blog, we spoke about Project Moff being involved in a non fault crash.
Well, after a few months, and extremely glad we have always paid for legal cover with our insurers 'A-Plan Insurance' (mention TMS Motorsport when looking to get a quote) the insurance has finally been settled.
Thankful for the witness we had, the claim was settled as a non fault, and full payout has been made. We can now look to put the car back together. As yet, we haven't fully inspected the car to see the full extent of the damage.
First off, we needed a new wheel. Its a ROTA MXR. 18 x 11J ET+8. As you can see, it took a hit and as far as we are concerned, damaged beyond repair.
There is a chance the wheel could have been repaired, however, as this car gets a lot of use on track, we didn't want to risk it, so, a nice new wheel arrived.
We took the Tyre (Federal 595 RSR in 285/30/18) over to our local tyre fitter.
Next on the list is to buy replacement suspension arms and adjustable arms for the R33 GTS-t Nissan Skyline Race car.
There are a few choices on Adjustable Suspension Arms for Nissan Skylines, such as IKEYA Formula Arms, Hard Race, Cusco, Outlaw, Driftworks, Japspeed, plus a few others. We are going to take a look and see which suits what we are looking for. Maybe it is the time to buy new for all of them, and start again. :)
Once the suspension has been stripped down, we can see the full extent of the damage.
At the moment, we are unsure on a direction the for the bodywork. As the rear arch was custom made, its not going to be the easiest to match up !
Read the next Blog in the series, which is where we start to repair Project Moff Suspension.
