Last time we spoke about Fitting Hard Race to the Rear - Part 1 . Where we stripped down the rear end. Now it is time to put it back together. This is the rear hub in pieces
Mounting the wheel bearing assembly, hub and stone guard.
We found the Hardrace items easy enough to piece the car back together. Quite a bit of contrast between the Red of the subframe, blue of the Hardrace items and yellow of the roll bar bushes !
Once all those pieces were in, we could look to fit the Hicas lock kit. [URL TO HICAS LOCK KIT]. We did make a change to the way the kit comes from Japspeed. Personally, we are fans of the superpro bushes. We did away with the polyurethane bushes that come with the kit in favour of super pro
Dab of lube, and in they slide
Then push in the metal centre washer
Bolt it all up together
Done, all back together
The whole process took about 5 hours from start to finish, once we had also played around to get the wheels looking visually straight. Everything on the surface looks ok, we haven’t noticed any further damage from the accident.
